I work with children and teens who have, or have had, a chronic, life-limiting or life-threatening illness as well as those who have experienced trauma due to hospitalization or medical procedures. Dealing with a chronic or life-threatening illness can be isolating and scary. I can help provide safety and normalization to the process.
In working with families and children with illness or hospitalization trauma I use a variety of interventions including art, play and talk therapy. I incorporate therapeutic games, toys and art supplies that are specific to what children are experiencing to help them process and cope.
